THIS POSITION IS NOW FILLED.
St. Mark’s Anglican Church is seeking a part-time Music Director due to the retirement of the previous music-director.
We are a family-oriented traditional parish in our way of worship. We use the blue Common Praise hymn book, and the BAS (Book of Alternative Services). The 10:00 am service is sung and uses page 185 of the BAS. The choir and congregation sing the psalm to Anglican Chant, and there is a senior choir anthem each week. Our Sunday services are also live-streamed to YouTube.
Our choir has an extensive repertoire incorporating a variety of musical styles. Over the past years, we have added diversity and now our repertoire ranges from medieval to contemporary.
This position is for a combined music director and organist who will play for Sunday worship services on either the organ or the piano according to what suits the music. The director of music will be available for special services during the church year. As choir director, they will conduct and accompany the choir for weekly rehearsals and worship. The position reports directly to and takes direction from the priest.
We invite applications for an enthusiastic and accomplished organist and music director to enhance our worship services and faith experience with music. We will start reviewing applications beginning on July 27, 2022.
