Paul Mugarura is a Pastor, Worship Leader and Musician. Paul lives in Ottawa and splits his time between Greenbelt Baptist Church and Trinity Anglican Church.
February 10, 2024 – Fashion Show
St Mark’s and St Thomas’ are co-hosting a fashion show at 2 pm at St Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, located at 2345 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa.
February 11, 2024 – Guest Speaker: Dr Anthony Bailey 10 am Service
Rev Dr Bailey is the lead minister at Parkdale Unite Church. As a pastor, a diversity and racial justice trainer, Rev. Dr. Bailey is a sought after voice who provides multicultural, diversity and Anti-Racism workshops and training.
February 11, 2024 – Panel Discussion
St Mark’s and St Thomas’ are hosting a panel discussion at 2 pm at St Mark’s. Panelists will discuss the final year of the UN’s Decade for People of African Descent, as well as explore the rich diversity of theology, views and practices across the Anglican Communion. The panelists reflect a diversity of countries of origin from Africa and the Caribbean within the Black Diaspora in Canada. They are: Rev Julian Campbell, MPhil, Rector, St. Mark the Evangelist Anglican Church, Rev Deacon Elizabeth December-Lovell, Julian of Norwich Anglican Church, Joseph Emmanuel Amuah, Manager of Indigenous Health, Canadian Institute for Health Information, Rev Felix Longdon, PhD candidate in Theology – Saint Paul University & University of Ottawa, Priest from the Anglican Church of Ghana & Anglican Diocese of Ottawa doing supply work at St. Mary’s Anglican Parish, Navan
February 17, 2024 – Movie: Black Panther
In honour of Black History Month, St Thomas’ and St Mark’s invite everyone to join us for a free viewing of Black Panther on Saturday, February 17 at 2:00 pm at St Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, located at 2345 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa.
February 18, 2024 – Guest Speaker: Yolande Parsons 10 am Service
Yolande Parsons is the Manager, Box Office and Theatre Marketing, Algonquin Commons Theatre. A staunch advocate for the black community in Canada since 1982.
February 25, 2024 – Guest Speaker: His Excellency V Alfred Grey, 10 am service followed by Afro-Caribbean Luncheon and Reggae Band
His Excellency V Alfred Grey has been serving as the High Commissioner of the Bahamas to Canada since October 2022.
