September 2013 GIFT Results
Thanks to all of the congregations participating in GIFT, our campaign is now at $12,121,614 in cash, pledges and bequest intentions and still climbing.
Exciting news about how GIFT is enlivening our Diocese…
During the latest round of grant applications, here are some examples of GIFT Grants that have been awarded:
- The Winter Warming Centre in Smiths Falls to provide a warm, safe place to sleep for people on the streets
- A Pastoral Assistant to build a ministry to the homeless at Centre 454
- Exceeding All Expectations, a program to mentor young people living in poverty at St. Thomas Alta Vista and St. Aidan’s Elmvale
The deadline for the next round of grants is September 30, 2013. Information about the application process is at www.growinginfaithtogether.com.
The diocesan share is funding these and many other initiatives:
- Conversations with Silence Retreat for children and youth
- Shaped by a Living Hope Rural Ministry Days
- PWRDF to help people with AIDS in Mozambique
- The Bishop Ordinary
